You bought a web domain now what? It is time to get hosting. This is where a monthly expense comes in. You have to pay to have someone “manage” the site on the web. Think of it this way. You now have online property and an address for people to go to but no one will be there to great them. Hosting is the greeter and caretaker on site. There are many solid hosting platforms out there but the one that I use is WPX Hosting (Affiliate Link Here). I chose this hosting platform for the fact that their unlimited e-mails addresses that I could create and it will host up to 5 different sites for 24.99 a month. Since I wasn’t exactly sure how many sites I was going to build this hosting gave me a lot of freedom and flexibility. Below is a comparison of WPX vs other sites off of their own site:
To begin just click the “Start Now” button in the top right of the home screen. This will direct to a page with three different plans and at the top two options that state “monthly” or “yearly.” If you click on the option you can see how the price is discounted for a yearly subscription when paid upfront. Select your desired payment and chose your plan by clicking “Get Started” at the bottom. For most people starting out the “business” plan should be more than enough to get things moving online. Once clicked it will lower to ask if you want hosting in US or UK? I picked the US as that is where Axiom Small Business Group is based.
The next pages are straight forward. You already own the domain name so it is just a matter of picking “Hosting Only” which is the default. Enter your domain name that you own in the bar below and click “Continue” Pick which way you wish to pay for the hosting at this phase. This is the amount you will be charged today for hosting and the length it will be hosted until payment is due again. Finally, when you click “Continue” it will have you set up an account with them and check out for payment.

Now that you have hosting for your domain it is time to build a website. Install WordPress and build it out, or upload a theme and edit it.
