5 Preparations Before Starting a Business

Before starting any new journey to achieve a goal we must prepare.  We ask that you look deeply at yourself discuss 5 key points.  These points are Clarity, Motive, Impact, Mindset, and Resources.

We want to know what we are going to achieve with this journey, why we are going on this journey, and what will this goal do for our lifestyle.  If you don’t have clarity to understand what you are doing it is easy to get lost.  This is not to say that the journey will not change as you grow and learn more about yourself but just that we know where we are going.  We fully expect to “course correct” along the way.  In the end though we will achieve the desired end result by have the clarity to know what it is and why we are doing it.  This will also keep you moving forward when things do get more difficult.  Like a catapillar in a cocoon fights to get out to be a butterfly you too will have to fight to grow.  Knowing what is on the other side of that growth will make it much easier to endure the pain of growth.

CLARITY

MOTIVE

Once you have clarity of what to achieve, we need to understand motive.  This is not always easy to define.  Sometimes it buried deep within us and takes hours, days, or weeks of reflective thinking to discover.  Do you want freedom, money, time, status, etcetera?  We will help you discover this by diving deeply and asking tons of questions to truly understand the motive.  Understand the driving force behind what you are looking for.  Once we have the right understanding for your motive, we are getting closer to knowing we are pursuing the right direction for you to reach your lifestyle.

What impact will your journey have once it is completed.  This is important as most people achieve what they set out then what?  When you better understand what will be achieved and the impact that it will have on your life and lifestyle then your conviction to pursue the journey and achieve the goal will be changed because you know how the end will change you and your family’s life.

IMPACT

MINDSET

This is the greatest and hardest part of the assessment on if you will complete your journey of achieving your goals.  This is not positive thinking, gratitude journaling, or affirmation thinking.  This is looking deeply into yourself and seeing if you really have mental capacity to endure on the journey.  Can you fight fear-based survival impulses and stay on the journey?  You have to understand that things will get tough but if you stay the course the journey will be worth it.  Do you truly posses the courage to press on in the face of adversity?  This is not about being reckless, “making it happen,” “trying to show who’s boss” some other buzz phrase.  This is having the evidence to know what has to go right on the journey and completing the steps when they count.  It is about having the sound mind to execute at the right time.

Finally, we end our preparation with what resources do you have at your disposal?  This is where you look at time, materials, supplies, team, skills, plan, knowledge, and anything else that is available to you.  Making sure that we have the ability to start is a huge step in completing the journey you are about to embark on.  There may be resources missing but we need to at least have enough to start.  You may not have enough fuel to drive from New York to California but having fuel to start and a plan to obtain more solid.  Looking at available resources will allow you to be confident in starting the journey.

RESOURCES

Once we have thoroughly evaluated these 5 key points of preparation, you can have confidence to begin your journey.
